Imagine waking up to a new state of existence; a time when we are part of everything, and everything is part of who we are. We have full control of our surroundings, our body, our brain.

When we think about the future, we tend to think about a world powered by technological gadgets, body enhancements and artificial intelligence, autonomous, or even flying cars. Yet, maybe the real potential of the future will not be technology for the sake of technology, but the new generation of humans that occupy the digital landscape and redefine the boundaries of reality.

We have spent years climbing the mountains of technology and societal development, only to find ourselves on the edge of a cliff; and while most of us are busy looking back at our achievements, a few brave ones are about to step forward and jump into the unknown.

Winter is coming

We are creating a change we still don’t possess the means to understand.

Throughout history our humanity (insignificant in the ecology of things) was the only constant factor – but that is going to change. We are using technology to design upgrades that, once introduced to society, will mark the collapse of everything we know. We are not at the top of the pyramid.
Our beliefs, anchored in faith, capitalism, individualism or any other system, will soon be outrun by the  push natural selection is getting from genetic and technical engineering. This new reality will not come from the dungeons of the current religious institutes, but from the collaborative minds across the labs of biotechnologists, nanoengineers and digital thinkers.

Digital Alphas

Jumping into the unknown. It would have been simple if that answer was 42. But, while some claim that homo-sapiens is nature’s greatest and most sophisticated creation, we need to consider that we might be not the last step on the evolutionary ladder, and that super-intelligence can materialise by elevating our consciousness and merging with man-made computation power; creating a new being — The Digital Alpha.
